Steve Solomonさんと下北沢Crawl

I had chance to meet Steve Solomon who was visiting Japan from Nashville, Tennessee. He traveled Tohoku district and Fukuoka, Kyushu. He said that traveling Tohoku and meeting people; listening their stories at firsthand as well as buying local commodities are his way of support Japanese people. I totally agree and that's one of the most important and sustainable help for us. Thanks for visiting, Steve! Hope you had a lot of nice memories and fun experience, and will spread the story to your friends. I hope more and more people have interest in Japan and come.

After his returning from Tohoku and while he was in Tokyo we had lunch time sketch session.We went to a restaurant called “Com.Cafe Otokura” and that day there they held a piano concert and slides show for free. So we enjoy listening the music and sketching the view.


先日ナッシュビルから東北と福岡に旅行にみえていたSteve Solomonさんとスケッチクロールする機会がありました。
東北では実際に人に会い、話を聞く事、また土地の物を買うことでサポートしたいとおっしゃっていました。
東北から東京に来ていた時にお知り合いのお宅に滞在されていた下北沢で会い、COM.Cafe音倉にてスケッチしました。







こちらはSteveさんが描かれた文字なし絵本です。コミュニケーションのツールとしてもくすっとできる絵本て素敵ですね。







We met second time after his returning from Fukuoka. This time one of Tokyo SketchCrawl friend Gobu joined. Unfortunately it was rainy and a bit cold day so we need to crawl from building to building. First, we went to a restaurant called “GUSTO”

そして、次にSteveさんが福岡から戻られた後、今度も下北沢で会う事にして、スケッチ仲間のごぶさんもごいっしょしていただき、雨の寒い日でしたが、おもしろいスケッチ場所で妙な３人組のクロールをしたのでした。まずはGUSTOにて。

Then we moved to a 5 or 6 story building to have some interesting view. There we were able to see nice roofscape of the town from the window of a ( cheap commodities) shop. We lined up at a window and sketched for about 20 minutes or so. Maybe we might have looked strange but all of us bought something there so we were not bad customers;-)

つぎに何か面白い景色が見えないかと、５，６階だてのビルの最上階のダイソーに行き、そこの大きな窓から見えた景色を３人で並んで窓にへばりつく様に２０分位描いていたのでした。（みんなそこで買い物をしたので、許してもらえるでしょ？）

人が集まるとちょっと勇気を持って普段行かないような場所へ行ったり（描いたりしたり）できちゃうもんですね。

下北沢駅南口

先日、本多劇場に舞台を見に行った時に、時間が空きまして、駅前でちょっとスケッチしました。
待ち合わせ場所ということで、人がゴチャゴチャ。
工事中なのでさらにゴチャゴチャ。

新宿や渋谷とはちがう、こじんまりとした街。
でも、若いエネルギーに満ちてる気がします。

35回スケッチクロール by Maki

4/21はスケッチクロールでした。 今回東京チームは二手に分かれて日暮里から谷中～根津神社を回るコースと東京駅を描くコースがあって、私は根津神社に行きました。

八根千って一度行ってみたかったんですよね♪



谷中銀座の名物、猫の尻尾ドーナツを食べました。美味しかった！！

ちょっと外でスケッチしようかなと出掛けてみたら、あんまりいい景色に出会えずどんどん歩いて山を１つ越え、結局テレビ塔がある山頂まで行ってしまった…というある日の出来事。

35th World Wide Sketch Crawl

I joined Tokyo team.
went to Tokyo Station at 13:00PM.
I tried to use some pens without watercolor for all my sketches this time.
It was a cold day!

Sketches at Tokyo station and Izakaya

Hi there,
It was a bit chilly day and I arrived at the sketch site: Tokyo station at 14:30, at that moment I knew I have to hurry. There was no time wander around for seeking better composition or warmer location, soon after I got out of the station exit,I sat on the portable chair that I brought and started sketching.

Tokyo station has been under renovation. Now it has pre-war look. It regained symbolic domes that have lost long time due to the bombings.

At 16:00 I met up Natsumi and Becco in a building near the station. We needed something hot to drink and relaxing. Then we looked around the building. I sketched the station again through the window in the 5th floor.

At 18:00 we got together with other Tokyo sketch members who have been sketching Nezu-shrine and we went to a Izakaya ( Japanese pub) and we shared our result and kept sketching while drinking and eating as usual.
This time we had many new and talented participants. Please check out Tokyo[result].

久しぶりに参加しました。

午後から3人で東京駅周辺で。

復元工事中の東京駅。

いっぱい描きましたぁ。
しかし、寒くて参った。ええかげん早よあったかなって～。
